The First International Visit Under the HELIOS Project in Ukraine!

Groundbreaking Collaboration in Organic Lighting Research!

At the beginning of December 2024, we were honored to welcome PhD student Lesia Volyniuk from Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania) to the laboratories of the Department of Electronic Engineering at Lviv Polytechnic National University. This marks the first international visit under the HELIOS project – a pioneering initiative driving research and innovation in organic lighting systems!

Research and Collaboration Highlights

During her stay, Lesia Volyniuk actively collaborated with Lviv Polytechnic scientists, focusing on cutting-edge developments in organic lighting technologies. Key areas of study included:

  • Investigation of new materials for white light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) utilizing room-temperature phosphorescence.

  • Exploring thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) properties to enhance energy efficiency in advanced lighting systems.

  • Data analysis and optimization of light-emitting device designs to improve overall performance.

Reflections on the Visit

Reflecting on her experience, Lesia shared:

“This visit has greatly enriched my research perspective and opened new doors for future collaborations.”

Strengthening Scientific Ties

This research visit fostered valuable knowledge exchange, laid a foundation for future international partnerships, and strengthened scientific collaboration between Ukraine and Lithuania.

Looking Ahead

Supported by the Horizon Europe Framework Programme, the HELIOS project will continue until September 2027, driving innovation and sustainability in organic lighting. The outcomes of this visit not only contributed to scientific advancements and paved the way for the development of more efficient and eco-friendly lighting technologies.

We extend our best wishes to all HELIOS participants and look forward to celebrating new achievements!
