The HELIOS consortium is proud to announce the release of its first Annual Newsletter (No. 1, October 2025) — a comprehensive overview of the project’s achievements, milestones, and collaborative initiatives carried out during its first year of implementation under the Horizon Europe programme (Grant Agreement No. 101155017).
The publication highlights the progress made toward strengthening research and innovation capacity in white-emitting organic lighting systems (WOLEDs and WLEDs) through interdisciplinary collaboration among the project partners: Lviv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), University of Glasgow (United Kingdom), Riga Technical University (Latvia), and Intelligentsia Consultants SARL (Luxembourg).
Highlights of the Newsletter
The newsletter covers a wide range of activities that took place throughout 2024–2025, marking the dynamic growth of the HELIOS network and its contribution to the European Research Area:
Kick-off Meeting (Kraków, Poland) – The consortium officially launched the project, setting the foundation for collaboration and defining the strategic vision for the first year.
Trainings on Scientific Communication and Dissemination (Kaunas, Lithuania) – Workshops led by international experts enhanced participants’ skills in research communication, presentation, and scientific writing.
Photonics School 2025 (Lviv, Ukraine) – A large-scale academic event engaging young researchers and experts in photonics, supported by HELIOS.
HELIOS Summer School (Palanga, Lithuania) – A training and networking event combining lectures, practical sessions, and a consortium meeting to strengthen interdisciplinary ties.
Research and Coordination Visits – Exchanges between LPNU, KTU, and the University of Glasgow enabled collaborative experiments, capacity building in research management, and development of advanced materials for organic lighting systems.
Building Research Excellence and Cooperation
Over the past year, HELIOS has succeeded in establishing a strong collaborative ecosystem that connects research, innovation, and education. Through a combination of scientific exchanges, targeted trainings, and dissemination actions, the project continues to:
Strengthen international partnerships and academic mobility.
Support young researchers in advancing their skills and scientific visibility.
Increase the institutional capacity of Lviv Polytechnic and its partners.
Promote sustainable, energy-efficient technologies through joint research efforts.
