  • HELIOS at the Student Conference “From Spark to Chip”: Uniting Science, Education, and the Future of Engineering

On April 30, 2025, the Lviv Polytechnic College of Transport Infrastructure hosted the student conference “From Spark to Chip: The Evolution of Electrotechnologies”. The event brought together students, educators, and invited experts in the field of electronic engineering, which remains a key domain within the scientific ecosystem of Lviv Polytechnic.

Representing the HELIOS project, Serhii Melnykov, Assistant at the Department of Electronic Engineering, delivered a presentation highlighting the role of electronics in the modern technological landscape. He also outlined the department’s research and academic activities and served as a member of the jury for the student presentations.

The conference program combined academic talks with practical elements such as a quiz competition and team-based logic tasks, encouraging interdisciplinary thinking and developing research skills among students.

As conference organizer Natalia Fechan noted, the event aimed not only to facilitate knowledge sharing, but also to create a space for collaboration across academic levels and structural units of Lviv Polytechnic.

Participation in such initiatives reflects one of the core goals of the HELIOS project: to promote science and innovation, engage the younger generation in research processes, and foster a strong engineering culture.
